Le Grand Bourg

After travelling hard for the last 3 months it was such a blessing to have the opportunity to stay put at my sister’s house in the south of France. It was so relaxing to spend a couple of weeks in the countryside. We were also lucky enough to be there during the annual festival which saw the whole town come to life! Needless to say I took LOTS of photos in the time we were there so this is just a small selection of our time in Le Grand Bourg.Le Grand BourgLeGrandBourg FeteThe outside of Brom’s cute little house.Outside the houseRue Saint RochLe Grand BourgI spent many hours in this sunny little corner reading books and drinking tea 🙂LeGrandBourgSome of the back streets.Backstreets of Le Grand BourgSunrise…such beautiful light at this time.Le Grand Bourg SunriseSunrise over cropsCrossWe took so many walks down lovely little lanes like this, exploring the countryside. Winding Country RoadButterfly on flowersSunset in townOur visit to nearby La Souterraine coincided with their brocante.La SouterraineLa SouterraineMarketProduceBack roadsSucculentsAnother nearby town, Benevant l’Abbaye.BenevantBenevantTime for Tea in Le Grand Bourg, a gorgeous little English style tea and cake shop.Time for TeaAnd the resident dog, Pongo, with her stone (she always carries one – isn’t that cute!).PuppySouthern France farmAren’t they gorgeous!Inquisitive cowsFarmingBarn & TractorCow close upField of flowersTime for the festival!!Festival flagsA stall at Le Grand Bourg brocante.BrocanteMusicians in the parade.ParadeMusiciansBeautiful Bolivian dancers. Luke & Bev were kind enough to drive us to the ferry for our trip across the Irish Sea and on the way we took the opportunity to explore some more of beautiful Wales! IMG_3948 IMG_3963 IMG_3976 Let’s just say that Welsh is not a language I’m going to try to learn any time soon…IMG_4002 IMG_4031 IMG_4049 IMG_4100 Luke not enjoying having his picture taken 😉IMG_4106 IMG_4115 IMG_4116 IMG_4134 IMG_4142 IMG_4157 Now that’s what I call a beer garden!IMG_4161 IMG_4224 IMG_4241 IMG_4255 IMG_4278

This was too impressive not to share. The guy standing in the middle of the three was holding the ball and the dude took a short run up, leaped over the top of the guys, grabbed the ball and slam dunked it. San Diego

I loved San Diego. It was so amazing to get back to the beach after our time in the desert.

Everyone had told us how much warmer the water was in San Diego than up further on the west coast but it was still freezing for us spoilt Queenslanders.
