After travelling hard for the last 3 months it was such a blessing to have the opportunity to stay put at my sister’s house in the south of France. It was so relaxing to spend a couple of weeks in the countryside. We were also lucky enough to be there during the annual festival which saw the whole town come to life! Needless to say I took LOTS of photos in the time we were there so this is just a small selection of our time in Le Grand Bourg.

We took so many walks down lovely little lanes like this, exploring the countryside.

Luke & Bev were kind enough to drive us to the ferry for our trip across the Irish Sea and on the way we took the opportunity to explore some more of beautiful Wales! 
Let’s just say that Welsh is not a language I’m going to try to learn any time soon…

Now that’s what I call a beer garden!
We headed further north to visit my oldest friend Luke and his lovely girlfriend Bev. They live just near the border of Wales and took us on a wonderful hike. We even found a tiny birds nest!
Next we headed north to spend some time with Andrew’s family. We had a wonderful 4 days catching up, exploring the areas around where they live and eating lots of amazing food.

Gorgeous Santa Cruz was a real highlight of the trip!
The oldest wooden roller-coaster in the USA.
This was too impressive not to share. The guy standing in the middle of the three was holding the ball and the dude took a short run up, leaped over the top of the guys, grabbed the ball and slam dunked it. Crazy!

I loved San Diego. It was so amazing to get back to the beach after our time in the desert.
Everyone had told us how much warmer the water was in San Diego than up further on the west coast but it was still freezing for us spoilt Queenslanders.
Love this guy’s solution to getting around quickly with a broken leg!
The place we stayed in San Diego was amazing. Great location where we could walk everywhere and a very animated Air B’n’B host and his dog Cinnamon.

The dinner at this amazing Italian restaurant in Little Italy is one of the best meals we’ve ever eaten! If you’re ever in San Diego, do yourself a favour and get down to Filippi’s. There’s the added fun of decorating the ceiling with your old wine bottles. Looks fantastic!
The biggest pancake EVER! Not sure if you can quite gauge the size from the photo but just trust me when I say the strawberries sitting on it were big…
We explored beautiful Balboa Park for hours. Other than the beaches this is the most fantastic part of San Diego.
La Jolla beach and surrounds.
There’s a huge sea lion colony there and they’re so funny.
Every time a wave comes they prop themselves up like they don’t want to get wet.
San Diego is gifted with some truly gorgeous coastline…
While visiting Cochise Stronghold for Andrew’s meditation retreat we stayed in this wonderful yurt! It was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. The quiet time at Cochise was very welcome after our hectic schedule. I really enjoyed the nature and met some of the most amazing people who made my stay there really wonderful.
Next on the journey was the Grand Canyon. It was amazing to see it in person.
