Rome

Our first stop in Italy was Rome. It was amazing to see this famous city in person. It definitely deserves it’s reputation.

The Colosseum was fantastic!We sat down to look at our map to work out how to get back to our place and we were sitting exactly where the photo on the map was taken from.Lots of wonderful cafes everywhere.Sunset from our apartment.There seemed to be ruins every corner we turned!Mmm…lunch.I’ve never seen so many Smart Cars!
Pantheon.Trevi Fountain(I know you can’t see any of the water from the fountain but there were people crawling over the whole area in front of it).

We went to The Vatican but just stayed outside as the lines were insane.And we ate LOTS of pasta 🙂

Pau and The Pyrenees

Next stop – Pau!

The setting sun hit the church at just the right time for this shot.Dining in Pau.The French do castles and gardens like no one else!While wandering around Pau we came across this fabulous little cafe. Deck chairs in the sun overlooking the Pyrenees in the distance and a fantastic old school roaster inside.This dog was awesome! He had jumped into a water feature outside some sort of official building and was having the time of his life. He would splash the water with his paws and then jump in the air, barking and biting at the water.The PyreneesA little village market we came across.The road to Spain! Farewell France…until next time!
